About the Role

Roo is looking for a passionate, skilled, and driven Lead Full Stack Software Engineer to help build out Roo’s web application for animal hospitals, veterinarians, and veterinary technicians. We’re a fast moving team that’s rapidly building out new features for our fast growing platform.

Your Responsibilities

• Work closely with our product managers, designers, and other engineers to build out new products and features for the Roo platform
• Partner with your fellow engineering leaders to help shape Roo’s technical architecture and tech stack, and help us set ourselves up for success during our next phase of growth
• Assume leadership of new projects from conceptualization to deployment
• Help lead the design and development of scalable code architecture and write clear maintainable code on the front and back-end
• Mentor less-senior engineers and maintain a high quality bar for your team

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience with JavaScript as a Full Stack Software Engineer working with React and Node.js
• Experience working with a growing team and early stage startup strongly preferred
• B2B, Marketplace, and/or SaaS experience a plus
• Proficient at writing and optimizing efficient SQL queries
• Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, CSS, React, Cloud Computing Platforms, and relational databases
• Hands-on experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Cypress, React Native, and AWS is a plus
• Degree in Computer Science or relevant field preferred

Since we’re a remote first company, compensation ranges are based on where you live. Please see below for examples of compensation ranges based on some state averages.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

California pay range: $165,000 USD – $210,000 USD

New York pay range: $165,000 USD – $210,000 USD

Washington pay range: $150,000 USD – $190,000 USD

Colorado pay range: $150,000 USD – $190,000 USD

Texas pay range: $140,000 USD – $180,000 USD

North Carolina pay range: $130,000 USD – $170,000 USD
